Return & Refund Policy

At Autobahn Performance AU, we are committed to supplying quality automotive parts, accessories, and performance products to our customers across Australia.

Please read this policy carefully before placing an order. By purchasing from our store, you agree to the terms outlined below.

This policy is designed to comply with the Australian Consumer Law. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law are not excluded, restricted, or limited by this policy.

No Change-of-Mind Returns

Autobahn Performance AU does not offer refunds, returns, exchanges, or store credit for change-of-mind purchases.

This includes situations where:

  • you no longer want the item;
  • you ordered the wrong product;
  • you selected the wrong size, colour, model, variant, or fitment;
  • you found the item cheaper elsewhere;
  • you decided the item is no longer suitable;
  • you changed your mind after the order was placed;
  • you no longer require the product.

Please check all product descriptions, images, specifications, and vehicle fitment information carefully before completing your purchase.

Vehicle Fitment & Compatibility

Many of our products are vehicle-specific. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the product is suitable for their vehicle before purchasing.

This includes checking:

  • vehicle make;
  • model;
  • year;
  • engine type;
  • body shape;
  • trim level;
  • fitment notes;
  • product specifications;
  • installation requirements.

If you are unsure whether a product will fit your vehicle, please contact us before placing your order.

We do not provide refunds, exchanges, or store credit where the product supplied matches the item ordered, but the customer selected an incorrect or unsuitable product.

Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Products

If your item is faulty, damaged, unsafe, significantly different from the product description, or not fit for its intended purpose, you may be entitled to a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law.

Depending on the issue, this may include:

  • a repair;
  • a replacement;
  • a refund;
  • another remedy required by law.

Businesses cannot remove a customer’s rights under Australian Consumer Law, and “no refund” policies cannot apply where a customer has a valid legal right to a remedy. The ACCC confirms that consumer guarantees cannot be taken away by a store policy or “no refunds” wording. 

When a Refund or Replacement Is Not Available

You are generally not entitled to a refund, replacement, exchange, or store credit if:

  • you changed your mind;
  • you ordered the wrong item;
  • you chose the wrong fitment;
  • you found the product cheaper elsewhere;
  • you damaged the product;
  • the issue was caused by misuse, incorrect installation, neglect, or modification;
  • the product was used for racing, motorsport, or off-road use where not suitable;
  • the product has been installed incorrectly;
  • the product has been modified, painted, cut, drilled, or altered;
  • normal wear and tear has occurred;
  • you were made aware of the issue before purchase.

The ACCC states that customers are generally not entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund where they simply changed their mind, found the item cheaper elsewhere, misused the product, or knew about the issue before buying. 

Installation & Use

Automotive parts and accessories must be installed correctly and used for their intended purpose.

Autobahn Performance AU is not responsible for issues caused by:

  • incorrect installation;
  • poor workmanship by a third party;
  • installation without proper tools or knowledge;
  • failure to follow instructions;
  • misuse or neglect;
  • modification of the product;
  • use outside the product’s intended purpose.

We strongly recommend having parts installed by a qualified mechanic, technician, or experienced installer where required.

Damaged in Transit

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible after delivery.

Please provide:

  • your order number;
  • clear photos of the damaged product;
  • clear photos of the packaging;
  • a description of the issue.

We will review the information and provide a remedy where required under Australian Consumer Law.

Incorrect Item Received

If you receive an item that is different from what you ordered, please contact us as soon as possible.

Do not install, use, modify, or damage the product.

Once we confirm that the incorrect item was supplied, we will arrange a suitable remedy, such as a replacement, return, or refund where required.

Return Conditions

Where a return is approved, the product must be returned in reasonable condition.

Where possible, the item should include:

  • original packaging;
  • all accessories;
  • all hardware;
  • manuals or instructions;
  • any included parts or components.

Items that have been installed, used, damaged, modified, painted, cut, drilled, or altered may not be eligible for return unless required under Australian Consumer Law.

Return Shipping Costs

Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility for non-faulty products, including cases where a return is approved at our discretion.

If the product is confirmed to have a fault or issue that entitles you to a remedy under Australian Consumer Law, we will provide a remedy as required by law.

Order Cancellations

Once an order has been placed, we may not be able to cancel it if it has already been processed, packed, dispatched, or ordered from a supplier.

If you need to request a cancellation, contact us as soon as possible. Cancellation requests are not guaranteed.

Special Order Items

Some products may be ordered specifically for your vehicle or sourced specially from a supplier.

Special order items may not be eligible for cancellation, return, exchange, or refund for change of mind, incorrect selection, or incorrect fitment, unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
